What’s Up This Week
Everyone ready for Valentine’s Day? Me neither. Here’s what’s happening this week.

- Family-Friendly Exhibit: Fine Art Feathers at Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center & Henry Hudson Planetarium. An exhibit of paintings, illustrations and wood carving celebrating North American birds in various natural habitats.
- 2013 CSA Sign Up at Lansing Farm Market & Greenhouse. Application for our 2013 CSA season are now available. Please visit our webiste for more information, to sign up for our CSA newsletter or to download a CSA application. You can also Like us on Facebook.
- Free Ice Skating at the Rink at Empire State Plaza at Empire State Plaza — New York State Office of General Services. Rink closes at 4 pm Christmas Eve, closed Christmas, reopening Wednesday. Enjoy skating in downtown Albany. Free rentals on Fridays, free skate clinics selected Saturdays.
- OPEN BOUNCE!!! at Afrim’s Sports. You’ll Love Our Bounce Zone… Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday Nights from 4:30-8:00pm (Ages 3-9 ONLY)

- Seneca Ray Stoddard: Capturing the Adirondacks at New York State Museum.
- Monday, February 11: LocalMotion Race Series at Hunter Mountain Ski Area and Resort. The Heineken LocalMotion race series takes place on five Mondays during the 2013 season. Teams and individual amateur racers compete for bragging rights in slalom, giant slalom, and multi-races. Come watch great skiing!
- Monday, February 11: Under 3′s at Schenectady County Public Library. Please call 388-4540 to register for stories, songs, and fingerplays for children under 3 and an adult caregiver.
- Monday, February 11: Open House at My Place to Play Preschool! at My Place to Play. We’d love to welcome your family to visit our school and meet with our caring teachers! Kids do NOT need to be potty trained to begin school.
- Tuesday, February 12: Tuesday for Tots at The Children’s Museum at Saratoga at The Children’s Museum at Saratoga. A special time for our littlest visitors. Play dough, arts & crafts and building materials are all a part of this weekly theme-based program.
- Tuesday, February 12: Grown-up Program: Make a Busy Bag! at The Wonder Room. Join us and make a set of busy bags for the child(ren) in your life.
- Tuesday, February 12: Mommy and Me French Program at The Language Learning Institute Ages 2 months- 2 1/2 years at The Language Learning Institute, LLC. This French Language Course allows you to spend quality time with your child as s/he participates in this fun-filled class of movement and song. See for yourself the ease with which your child learns French alongside English.
- Tuesday, February 12: Mothers and More Monthly Meeting at Tiny Tots Tea Room at Tiny Tots Tea Room . Join other Capital Region Moms for a Monthly Gathering at Tiny Tots Tea Room
- Tuesday, February 12: Pine Bush Pups: Dress like an Animal at Albany Pine Bush Preserve & Discovery Center. PRE-K PROGRAM. We’ll dress up like one of our favorite fuzzy creatures and play a game of winter survival. Next, we will take a short hike to look for warm places to hibernate. Don’t forget your warm clothes, boots, hats & mittens!
- Tuesday, February 12: Purim Tiny Tots Torah Time! at Clifton Park Chabad. Purim Program
- Tuesday, February 12: Prep for Your Annual Review Committee on Special Ed Meeting at Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library. This training will give parents of students with disabilities the tools and tips they need to help prepare for their child’s Annual Review Committe on Special Education (CSE) Meeting.
- Wednesday, February 13: Book Sale and Signing: Vicki Addesso Dodd at Tiny Tots Tea Room. Local children’s author, Vicki Addesso Dodd will be signing her newest book, I Love You Daddy, I Love You More. A heartwarming story about the never ending love between a father and daughter.
- Wednesday, February 13: Alphabet Soup at The Children’s Museum at Saratoga at The Children’s Museum at Saratoga. Each week we learn a new letter with stories, songs, and more. This multidimensional experience is a fun way to reinforce early literacy in preschoolers.
- Wednesday, February 13: Story Art at The Children’s Museum at Saratoga at The Children’s Museum at Saratoga. Each week we’ll listen to a new story and create a craft inspired by it.

- Wednesday, February 13: Weekly Story Time for Preschool Children at Stephentown Memorial Library. Join Rebekkah Corbett for Stories, Songs and a craft each Wednesday morning
Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14th:
- There are a bunch of One Billion Rising events, lots of Zumba and dancing, are organized today as a protest against rape culture and violence against women.
- Thursday, February 14: Silly Science! at The Children’s Museum at Saratoga. Each week we explore the different ways science is all around us.
- Thursday, February 14: Drop-In Storytimes at East Greenbush Community Library.
- Thursday, February 14: WeeMuse: 10 Days of Play: A Pop-Up Adventure Play at Berkshire Museum.
- Thursday, February 14: Drop-In Storytime at East Greenbush Community Library.
- Thursday, February 14: Tours for Tots at The Hyde Collection. Visit the collection or exhibitions with a museum educator and will spend creative time in the Art Studio.
- Thursday, February 14: Vicki Addesso Dodd: Book signing and Reading at the Children’s Museum at Saratoga. - Thursday, February 14: Free Valentines Babysitting at Bloom and Bee Portrait Studio.
- Friday, February 15: Art Night Schenectady at Art Night Schenectady. Celebrate the visual and performing arts, music and fun throughout Schenectady on the third Friday of each month
- Friday, February 15: Wiggle and Giggle at The Children’s Museum at Saratoga at The Children’s Museum at Saratoga. This is a special time for children to learn what they can do with their bodies.
- Friday, February 15: PARENTS NIGHT OUT – Every Third Friday of the Month at Tiny Tots Tea Room . Drop the Munchkins off for Parents Night Out for Dinner, Play, Crafts and More!
- Friday, February 15: Pre-School Story Hour with Pam at the Open Door Bookstore at Open Door Bookstore. Enjoy songs & stories every Friday with Pam!
- Friday, February 15: The Flurry – A Festival of Traditional Music and Dancing at DanceFlurry Organization. A 3-day celebration with dancing, singing, family events and more
